Napoleonic Helmet

Aladean offers this French Napoleonic  helmet from 2nd Empire. This Cuirassier Helmet is hand crafted from premium brass .Falling down from the top of the comb is a massive black long horsehair tail. The left side of the skull has a red plume. It is a wunderful piece to have in any collection.

Brief History:-  At the beginning of the napoleonic time, cuirassier still wear a tricorn hat. If Kellermann and Bourcier suggest in 1798 to provide them with a helmet, they will wait until 1801 to receive one. This helmet was never considered very practical. It was not very stable, gave not a good protection, for a saber hit could smash it, and a lot of troppers kept complaining about the horsehair mane, which made the armor rost. Its look his nevertheless typical, and remembers the greatest battles of the napoleonic time.
